Hello,
I'm having hard time to define a 2 frame image loop as a sequence in Octane for Modo. Even I set the end behaviour as repeat, texture sequence is not looping. it only shows the 00 frame and then the 01 frame then stuck on the 01 frame instead of looping in the rest of the frame rendering.
I tried on both runtime modo material conversion, and octane override, with anabling reload materials in each frame option and no luck. I searched the forum and it looks like image sqs are supported but I'm not sure what am I doing wrong. any help is appreciated.

Can you send me a scene that shows your issue please? And which version of the plugin are you using? I can see there was a fix put through on this:
2023.1.2.196
- Fixed issue where Clips->Image Sequence->End Behavior=Repeat was not working
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
thanks for the new version of the Plug-in.
But Foundry hasn't updated the modo 17 build, yet. So how do we Mac users get the most recent version now? Will we always have to wait for Foundry?
Could you provide a regular download link?
Thanks!
Cheers,
David

Hi Paul,
me again. So ... Foundry has released Modo 17.0v6 and it still ships with the old plugin 199. So I have to switch to Windows to export proper ORBX files with color vertex maps.
Not happy with that.
Best,
David

Paul, the 2023.1.3.200 release notes are wrong about the octane.exportFrame useOldExporter option ("octane.exportFrame" doesn't exist).
The actual command is
Code: Select all
octane.saveFrame useOldExporter:true

Hello Paul, sorry for being lost, I forgot the whole thing once I repeated frames by png files to create the loop manually on that project. Now I find myself in the same situation and here I am

I use Modo 16.1v8 and Octane for Modo 2023.1.2.199.
I'm trying to use 2 frame sequence in "octane override" within the materials. when I render an animation, first frame appears in the 00 render, and then the second frame on the 01 render. next it only renders the second frame of the sequence even if I set the end behaviour as repeat.
Here is a sample scene that I'm reproduced the problem. After the frame 2, it stuck at the second frame of the texture.

Thanks.

Thank you for the test scene. The issue is that the plugin is not "repeating" the first image. So if you have 3 images, it will use 1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3, etc. I will fix this in the next release (which will be compiled with Octane 2024.1 Beta 2). If you urgently need a fix, please let me know and I will send you a test version.
Paul

Thank you so much Paul. I duplicated the files for this project and rendered in one loop. So, no urgent fix is needed. Very appreciated.
