I have a Question: Is the Ver. 4.01.1 only for Users with the full license ?
I work with the OctaneRender® Subscriptions (rent) Version.
The V4.00 works, but with 4.01 i have a license problem.
THX!
Did you download the right file? One thats under
WINDOWS SUBSCRIPTION(Studio) BUILD in first post?
I once had the same issue because I downloaded wrong file

Hopefully this is the right place to report bugs. Here's what i've found with this version.
1.- Right click + show in picture viewer for Z-depth pass crashes Octane and C4D.
2.- Z-Depth renders in Live viewer but doesn't render to picture viewer along with the other passes.
3.- For some reason every time I open files that already have an environment in it, the default gray environment is still visible and it gets very repetitive having to go to settings and making that default env black. I think in previous versions an HDRI environment in the scene would override the default environment. Either way I think the option of setting this default environment to be black forever would be a nice option to have.
That is it so far. That being said, i'm pretty happy with the implementations in this last build, like I just realized Octane is now rendering multipasses at the same time it's rendering the main pass.

It's not a bug, new behavior. default environment value is not anymore a part of preferences and saved to scenes. It changed because of problems in network rendering.

You could use new.c4d workflow for saving default Octane settings in a scene file that gets loaded as startup scene when you open new C4D file.
Here is tutorial for that:

Is this a visual bug?
I'm running one 1080 ti, one 1080 and one 1070 over network on this scene. All cards aer working (100% usage via after burner).
Shouldn't be 8 GB be the toal VRAM?

Had the same question to be asked here. Did I miss something? Was the VRAM limit determined by the GPU with lowest amount gone with V4?
Would be great if this is a feature now and not a bug!

Yes it was showing the info from gpu0. I was in hurry to make a quick release. Now it's fixed 4.01.1-R2.

for me it is also a serious bug. there should be at least a option or something where i can set my own default color that overrides this default grey color.
every old scene that i open renders wrong now.
also it doesnt make sense at all that there is a grey color predefined. there is no chance that i accidently need this color as a environment. either i need black or i need a hdri . only in some cases i need a plain color but how do you know that i need exactly this grey value?

Way1: Use an environment object and no need thise feature.
Way2: Open scene and change default environment and save. This change had to be done. There was not any other way to avoid network rendering issues.

I noticed in this 4.01.1 release (R1 and R2) Scatter object orientation has incorrect display for Box/Sphere/Line display type.
They have incorrent orientation, it does work when I have selected Object Display Type.
