coilbook wrote:Hi Paride,
can we finally have multi/subobject material inside the mix material since octane now support OSL?
is it possible
I do not know if mix material can use Multi / Sub-Object Material because it is not an Octane node. I will investigate. Alternatively you could mix materials using Multi / Sub-Object as in the screenshot.

HHbomb wrote:Hi, it seems that Render layer setup, active layer ID don't work with Movable Proxies...
[edit] : No, in fact I can't manage to use layer ID 10... It works fine with 1,2 and perhaps other ID but layer ID 10 don't work at all ( not only for proxies )
Hi HHbomb,
everything seems to work well, could you share the scene with render layer setup issue you report?

yes it seems to be back. Strange. In object properties I hide from camera some objects from layer Id 10, and they never come visible again. I had some max crashes.
There is something octane or max didn't like.
At first I had Octane scene persistency with keep all node, and then as it did'nt work I clear all the caches and turn to "clear all nodes on render"
As it is currently in first stage of developpement, I think my problem come from this.

it would look like a network render issue using minize traffic, but you said do not do network render., do you have any textures on server or cloud or are you using .psd textures?
No. None of theese.

Hi mbetke,
could you share your scene in PM, using 3dsMax archive?

Hi HHbomb,
I tried to reproduce your issue but to no avail.
Could you make a clip or any screenshot sequence about you issue?

UI hangs from time to time. Problem came up with Octane 4.
It goes this way for about 4min. I even can't change to other windows because it jumps back to 3dsmax after one step of "UI-Outtage". Then suddenly it stops and went back to normal usage. Total mess...and random appearance.I just work and do nothing special. Sometimes after closing the interactive viewport or working on materials, saving the scene. Updated video drivers.

I sent you PM with all the stuff and a CUDA 700 error.
I just discovered another small bug:
With Viewport opened the render starts over when I just browse a material in mat-editor. Although I don't change a value. This didn't happen before in Octane 3.

Yes, same here. For now the workaround is to use lock icon, which seems to prevent re-rendering when browsing Material Editor.
