Hi Elvissuperstar007,
this issue will be fixed in V4 6.07 and V3 5.16.

Paride
When can we expect V4 RC4 in 3ds Max?

Hi kcpr-raffaEl,
they are doing their best to release it as soon as possible.

Great!! I'm so excited to try it in 3ds max! Especially because of optimized render times.

Hi Paride,
attached is your example of the gradient clouds you helped me with. Unfortunately I need a gradient color across a cloud and yours is gradient through the actual internal cloud thickness like onion layers. Is it even possible to do gradient across?

Also I talked about it long time ago adding gradient texture to scattering just turns VDB red. And will we ever see support for RGB in phoenix? To have different liquid colors ans smokes in one grid.

Thanks

HI Paride,
looks like your method is the only one for clouds of different colors. By the way I can never get what is the proper max grid value? It creates very different results. I tried over and over and can maximum fit 2 colors and not full spectrum of colors no matter what I did

Hi coilbook,
it looks like a film_IOR but medium nodes do not have this option.
Said that, I think you should try using a cloud .vdb that has a flat shape, as in the picture: it is almost two-dimensional so it looks like it's on the surface and not through it, but it's not true.
That rainbow effect depends on sun ray passing through water contained in the cloud.

Paride

Thank you. Hopefully otoy can add IOR to volume medium one day

Hi Paride,
just a quick question. I have a scene with 8 mil polys and 9 itoo forests in it total 5gb of vram. is it normal for octane viewport take 50 sec to evaluate before it opens up in octane 4?

The second rare problem is when you close octane viewport and try to reopen it says octane session is still active.

Thanks
