it's a french website dedicated to hardware. They made interviews in production lines, talked to third party manufacturers... They have always very good inside infos about production problem.
Their story about defective 2080ti, explains a lot why reviewer get their cards only 2 days before the end of the NDA, each cards has been tested individually.

Mass production of the GDR6 was expected in 2019, but Nvidia found a manufacturer, who claimed to be able to mass product mid 2018... apparently, it was not the best idea.
Even with manual testing, their is still a lot of falty memory in delivered 2080ti. I am happy not to have problem, but the NVIDIA forum is full of people with RMA because of that.

Even NVIDIA aknowledge having production issue in september, explaiining why the 27 september was not the 2080ti launch date, like it was supposed.
The second batch of cards was supposed to be better... that's why 5 or 10 october was stated (I received mine the 5 of october) for ALL preorder, but again a large part of the card are not sent... and a lot of people received now the 30 november as the new delivery target.

That is commom, when you have a very new componant, to have a lot of defective pieces in the beginning... that, with a bit of rush from Nvidia to show the cards... explains a lot.

Thank you, I didn't know that. Makes me wonder why other hardware sites don't report it.

Just tested combination of GTX1080 and RTX2080, it seems to work fine in both Octane 3.08.5 and 4.00 RC7 (with latest nVidia drivers, Win7 x64) :)

BLACKOUT until end of year or next year!! -- Due to the abnormal performance of RTX cards - lack of Vulkan or Optix API and/or the bad optimization until new OR 2018.1 or 2019. ;)
