Red cameras are awesome. They were conceived to be "the Best" camera on the market. So in that sense they have the right, and its good to see the integrity, to say that it will be ready when its ready. Most release dates for anything are often pushed back as unforeseen things happen near the end. It is just the way software/hardware development works. I remember seeing initial adds say that Final Fantasy 13 would be released in the state in late 2008. Yet here we are in March of 2010 and it is finally coming out next week. My statement from before still applies. I would rather a well rounded, working software a little late than a faulty one on time.

I think that philosophy is good for physical objects like cameras since every copy costs extra. Software on the other hand can be replaced, updated, changed, fixed or downgraded if need be, so it really isn't important to get it right on the first, or second, or eighth try. 'Release early, release often' works much better for me as a user. It's just a personal preference though.
