Sorry, also having trouble with the mapping once imported into max.
Does the geometry need to have the uv mapping done before running it through PA?

Is the export scale in meters? Did you triangulate on export to OBJ? (required)

Changed the import scale to 0.001 (why the hell Octane uses meters is beyond me)
Also had to select Zbrush preset for some reason and then it worked.
Once back in max though, the displacement is making the corners look rounded - see pic
Top and bottom geometry has same material, bottom geometry is via PA.
Any ideas how to stop this? I've tried adding smooth modifiers and turning smooth on and off in the octane material setting.

The 'rounded corners' is the technique used to fix the entire problem... it has to be this way because Octane's displacement cannot deal with the normals otherwise.
But you can make it less apparent. In the SETUP panel, change the MAX to something smaller (this is in meters), like 0.005 m. This will make the 'inset' of the edges smaller and make the rounding less visible. But remember that without the rounding, the displacement will get those gaps.

Hey, my application hangs and freezes when I try to export my OBJ, is there a maximum amount of polygons that Phantom architecture can export comfortably? My original mesh before importing to Phantom is 55,000 polygons. Any help would be appreciated!

Yes there is a limit, please keep your mesh optimised, because when exporting the size of the mesh will increase around 1500% (it creates special 'rounded' edges to fix the displacement)

Starting 01-01-2018, our public tools (Phantom Scatter, Phantom Node Link, Phantom Photo Match and Phantom Architecture) will no longer be available for licensing. Lifetime licenses will remain active.

Did you sell off all of your tech? If so, I do hope you hit pay dirt. Even a non-customer like me knows you put TONS into these apps!

I'm keeping them and who knows what happens... but right now I'm using all tech to build a revolutionary rendering AI that combines all apps into an automated rendering system for architects and project developers. You place around objects from our rendering library, our system will handle everything from scattering/processing to rendering. Great quality, low price and at a massive scale. I cannot defend public licensing of the currently available tools to investors, that's why they're going. This will be huge and all of the more casual users of Octane (for archviz mostly) will be able to save a ton of time and cost using this system. Will post about it eventually!

Phantom, you made us really curious with your announcement.
Any timeframe for a beta trial?
