As a non-american, why is that? :?
Because if a portion of your userbase is going to be drunk, full of pie, and looking for an excuse to escape from obnoxious inlaws, you're gonna get lots of great feedback.

Thanx FRNL! You nailed it! Really though guys, four day weekends (especially Thanksgiving) were made for fiddlin' with crap... and I don't know about others, but regardless of workload and complexity of gigs, I hardly ever hear from clients between Thanksgiving and Jan 2. That frees up a lot of time... not spending 20% of my time in emails, for one thing...

My crystal ball says alpha is coming in January. And '1-2 weeks' means 1-2 months.

Unless I missed the update that was supposed to be here mentioned 2 weeks ago.

Perfectly said... I could not think of a better way to spend the long weekend.

Yeah at this point it's almost certain that v3 will arrive next year... :(
Otoy has started to act a lot like Quixel...

"Coming soon"....

Perhaps Otoy should be more like Apple;

No news/interaction at all except at prearranged symposiums: WWDC/Siggraph/GPU Tech Conf.

They would announce what they want to announce and be optimistically evasive when questioned about anything that's not on their agenda for presenting that day.

love or hate any company's communication strategy; we keep coming back for the product if its got the goods...

Seems like the rule rather than the exception now with most software.

I don't get why it's better from a marketing perspective to announce faster than the competition to then just piss everyone off when you're late. But it must work, otherwise all these companies wouldn't do it.

It's not just software either. Same BS happens with all my camera gear.

So sick of it.

They have a great product, but a great product doesn't mean they are going to be successful... bad management can destroy a company. I use their software on a daily basis, and love it. I am standing at my word, and saying that V3 will not be out till March 2016... and only in beta. Full release will be in August 2016.. this only my opinion. I would be very excited if I am wrong.

Does anyone really is in such a need for Version 3.0? Will life on Earth stop if V 3.0 is not released this Year?

I think this is not the case. We have a stable working version and the Otoy Dev“s and coders doing a fantastic job here, so there is no need to start to become unfair now!

I personally wish that the Otoy Team takes all the time they need to give us a "WORKING" and stable release of V 3.0,
instead of rushing thru the code and producing some crappy stuff, like many other Software Vendors do these days!

But, thats just my 2 Cents...
