ghm, depends on Your future plans & total investment You're looking to throw. I guess if we see new cards at GTC they will not be cheap at all =) are they going to bring prices down of other cards? not so sure - but if nVidia is going to discontinue old cards maybe some retailers will try to sell out stock items..however I wouldn't count on that too much.
780 6GB is discontinued card & it's getting harder & harder to get them.. - I'd say if You're in doubt, get one or two (instead of 3 or 4) & wait for some news..- I have a feeling that nVidia is trying to raise cards prices (based on tendency we saw with Titan line)..

Ok.., yeah that's what I'm afraid for also, that Nvidia cards will become more expensive as they discover this is a good goldmine.
Thanks man, I'll try and order them at the other webshop.

Yes.. it is like with the Titan Z: price dropped from 3000 euro to 1500 euro and now most Z's are back to 3k again, so I do not suspect the prices drop again.
If anyone is thinking about Z I would get them when they are still at 1500 euro and not wait for the price to drop. (and the hurting of spending the money is quickly forgotten when enjoying them
And waiting for new cards is always the big question... after coming out of new card you can wait again for the even newer cards, or wait for classified version or other tuned version.. with this philosophy of waitin' you might be waiting for ever and ever and waiting for ever for the perfect card with perfect price to arrive...
I rather render fast sooner then later and render slow while do the eternal waiting
..just my 5 cents...uuhhh .. or 2 cents

So I ordered two 780's at another webshop after asking 2 times if they are sure they can deliver.
I'm very curious if I will ever see these cards arrive or that I will also have to cancel this order

Ok again, the other shop also can't deliver the 780's... Even when I double checked with them if they were sure they could deliver.
Which leads me to the conclusion I wont find any 780 Strix anymore.
So now I don't know what to do actually.
For me it's still a bit unclear when you would reach the 4 GB limit or 6GB limit of a card. In other words, is it wise to use 4GB cards (980 for example?)? Or is it almost a waste of money in the long run because you will hit that memory ceiling?

With new 'out of core textures' 4GB seems to be fine, but wait 2-3 weeks for news from nvidia, if you can.
