However, the samples files are structured like this:

0001-image-sample_ny.jpg.x
0001-image-sample_nz.jpg.x
0001-image-sample_nz.thm

I can't open the images with Photoshop, even by removing the .x extension, so I don't know how can I convert the Octane output file to be used with the VR pano viewer... Any tips will be greatly appreciated, even via PM.
I did a test and if you render out the stereo cubemap

chop into 12 cubes of 1536x1536
now you have files name_0 to name_11
horz flop all the files
rotate files 2 and 8 -90
rotate files 3 and 9 90
convert all the files to jpg
rename files

What is the procedure to bring the (non-stereo) cubic images into the GearVR?
I have copied the quadratic cubic textures with the same naming structure but it does not work. Do I have to process the maps with a specific Samsung App?

OK, I have played a bit and figured it out.
The top and bottom images have to be rotated 90 degrees and all images need to be stored as jpgs.
Looks nice. Lets hope for stereo support, very soon.

+ 1
If users can get the beta script now there is a good chance that Otoy would have additional vr buzz at GTC :)

On a side note, will there be any path to create any type of user interface (hotspots) with lua scripts?

Valve will bring their own VR gear and it is demoed in GDC.
Interesting.

Valve has also stated that Steam will be the platform where people will get their VR experiences and games.
Great news.

I just hope that there would not be a pointless competition between Oculus and Valve that would block the content creation.

Otoy could now make their move towards Valve, to have x.io and cloud rendering integrated into this. I am sure you know what to do already.

Just occured to me the other day, that the cloud rendering will eliminate the piracy issue with one stroke. Not a small thing.

I wonder why it takes some time to release the stereo App ?!
Basically it is the same technique as mono, just using a divided image.

So, Nvidia is also jumping in with their gear. :)

I just hope VHS-Betamax-whatnot issue doesn´t come along.
I want my future stuff work in all of these, with one setup from my behalf, thank you very much. :)

It could be the GDC next week where they announce and release these, with hype. I mean I would do it that way.
