I have not clearly understood, what you mean in first sentence?.. Can you please explain a little more detailed?..
If you mean that the emission is less if the object is scattered - yes, it is how Octane engine behaves. If you have scattered emitter - try to raise its power.

Hello Jimstar, thanks for the information about the scatter mode and the Lightning.
the ram usage is different when you go into Viewport shading and use Rendered

it will take ~40% less Ram than Pressing the Renderbutton.
But even in the older versions of the plugin there was this hike and I haven´t noticed this before. ^^

Another bug : Mix node
I had a mat of two colours with turbulance amount and then the mix on the difuse... it worked fine
then I tried to switch the 2 RGB nodes and not mix had no affect it just produced one solid colour
I disconected the turbulance and played with the amount from 0 to 1 with the two different RGBs still attouched to it... still nothing!
Had no time to isolate and reproduce it on new file cause I am on a tight work schedual here!

Question:
Will (can) this plugin support any additional texture mapping options, stuff that is not present in the standalone version, like:
- global, object local, camera... auto coordinate spaces for image textures
- rotation, translation transforms for image textures
- multiple UV sets per object (ie. per-texture coordinate assignment)
Octane is extremely lacking in this field compared to other render engines. Hopefully the plugin can do more than the standalone version.

Hi Friends ! Just a short message. I would like to be more present, but since the Blender Plugin is available, I have had very few time to test it : I am re-painting my home and my workstation is out of service under plastic sheet.
Anyway, thank you very much for this much expected great tool !

Hi
I have a problem to run octane blender plugin.
I've downloaded octane srver, and blender octane edition.
Then, I instaled software. First I run octane server, then blender, entered login and password, and nothing hapend.
No errors, nothing...
I double checked login and password.
octane server is switching off after few seconds with no error.
Is it a bug, or I am doing something wrong?
Of course i have activated stand alone version.
I tried on 2 machines
there was about 3 hours passed before second attempt.
I deactivated accounts via web.
can you help me to run octane inside blender?

Hi Marcin,
What does the status bar say at the top when you change the viewport to rendered or hit f12?
Can you please try it with a very simple scene, like a cube.

Hi Marcin.
This is freshly installed octane server/blender combo? If yes launch octane server from the windows command line and you get an error msg about a missing dll. You can install one of the microsoft redist.
