I encountered another thing while rendering an animation (seperate jpg's):
after rendering a bunch, the rendering seems to stop whitout any error, but it shows the Samples/pixel and Phase, but just does not continu rendering.
I have to stop The Creating Fly-through pop-up and start the animating-rendering again (gladly I can start with a last-rendered+1).
I am trying to monitor the temps of GPU, but I am not sure what the problem is.
For me reducing Core Clock & Memory Clock both only by 10Mhz (MSI afterburner) seems to solve that problem.
No stopping at rendering animations for 3 days now...

May I ask what trees you are using (in the back in your last screenshots) ?

Greetings,
Artur
Thanx for tip.
I won't downclock my GPU yet while rendering for a few hours for small animation,
but if I need to render overnight I will have to.
The trees are from the standard AC library. I apllied material from DB and it is OK from distance but not from close.
I'm have the animation public soon and I 'll show you the result of using AC trees.
Soon we will be able to use proxy objects and we can link to obj trees :D
Greetings, Jeroen
Hi Paul and Arthur,
I downclocked my GPU's to 95% of the default, but that did not solve the issue. It stopped rendering.
I thought the screensaver migth be the problem, but it is seems not to be either.
I aslo tried to downclock the GPU while rendering when the temps where getting higher,
but then I am getting a cuda error sometimes and the rendering stops too.
At this moment while I am writing this, I am rendering with 4 GPU and turned screensaver off and I am monitoring the temps to see if they getting higher to see if the rendering stops at certain point, but now I noticed by low temp and low gpu clock that it seems two of four are not rendering while they were activated in the beginning? I'll start againg to see if this keeps happening.
greetings, Jeroen

UPDATE
I restarted the PC just to be sure while I was confused why 2 of 4 GPU did not work... maybe it was some tweaking I did that meshed things up. Gladly for me all 4 work now. I set them to default and start rendering the animation again to see what happens and it looks OK now.

Hi,
When Octane support texture map offsets, rotations, and disabling of tiling?
Thanks

Hi Maro,
I guess you are an Archicad user as well, because you are posting this question here,
but you might better check the general discussion for more about this.
To my knowledge it will not be a feature developed in the Archicad plugin,
but a feature that is (or will be) developed in OctanRender standalone.
I am just a user, but I hope it will be in near future, but don't think there is a time set for this,
at least that's what I can make from reading the other threads.

@Paul, please correct me if I am wrong.
And is there anything to add in relation to the Archicad plugin?

Hi Paul,
I noticed that at the plugin "devices" GPU 3 and 4 are switched compared to the EVGA PrecisionX I use to OC/monitor.

Hi Paul,
I encountered two things:
1. after opening OR viewport the first time it does not show render, but when I move the window just a little bit it does show.
2. when not opening the OR viewport before AC photorendering I get a material-not-loaded error. If OR Viewport needs to be loaded a message might be better instead of going through the errors.
greetings, Jeroen

When Octane support texture map offsets, rotations, and disabling of tiling?
Hi Maro. As Jeroen said, this is a general enhancement that needs to happen to Octane, rather than specific to the ArchiCAD plugin. Many people have already requested this, and I understand Otoy have it on the enhancement roadmap, but emailed Otoy requested this enhancement will help.

Hi Jeroen. Does Octane Standalone also have them around the other way?
1. after opening OR viewport the first time it does not show render, but when I move the window just a little bit it does show.
This looks like a Windows display adapter problem. Is it random or reproducible every time?
2. when not opening the OR viewport before AC photorendering I get a material-not-loaded error. If OR Viewport needs to be loaded a message might be better instead of going through the errors.
Yes, when you open a photorender, ArchiCAD is renaming some materials! For example, a material name of "metal chrome (polished)" is send to the photorenderer as "metal chrome", so the ArchiCAD plugin cannot match up the materials, so it pops the warning. I made a change in the last patch which substantially reduced the incidence of this, but it is still sometimes occurring. Artur has sent me a test scene where this is still happening so I will investigate this futher tomorrow.

Hi Paul,
In Octane Standalone they are switched too. Besides with EVGA Precision I looked at the GPU's with cpu-z and they are shown switched too.

Seems like random.

Hi Paul,
No problem here, but I want to report this.. maybe it is something worth to you.
I started a project from a while ago and the materials were shown in the materials,
but the were not loaded in the model.]
I think this has to do with the location of the materials. They are on my server, so they have to be loaded over the network? Or are they cachec local anyway?
Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that I updated the plugin in the meanwhule.
Anyway when re-assiging the textures, save, close and re-open the AC and plugin everything is fine.
greetings, Jeroen

Hi - new version posted - pls see http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 84#p137984. This should remove the majority of unmatched material issues in the Photorender. If you find any situation where the photorender is not rendering a material that the Octane Viewport is, pls let me know.

Thanks to Artur and Jereon for assisting in tracking the issue down.

Paul
