Hey Gordon -- until we get the LiveDB stuff in LW...
Don't forget that you can render LW procedural textures beautifully with the
the Ortho camera and a flat plane... render a square 4096 and pop that in PS...
use Filter > Other > Offset -- 2048 horz and 2048 vert... make it seamless...
save.. add to images in LW.
(of course - I mean render procedural in LW regular mode.. edit.. pop into OctaneLW)

"Review the interface of render target nodes using sliders, percents, etc" since you seemed to use slidercontrols in the plug-in you plan to use them some where else in the app so it resembles the stand alone version a bit more?
I have a big problem with sliders ... LW SDK doesn't support sliders with floating point values (it has only sliders for integer values), this is why I don't put sliders in a lot of Octane nodes parameteres.

I'm more trying to get the textures used in some of the LiveDB materials.

No, not insulted mate. It's just that I'd be ok getting a nice LW procedural to of LW, I just want to find a way to be able to back-engineer the livedb materials, and one of them use images tat you don't have access to.
I'm basically down to what you've sufpgested, but taking each image in a material, and putting it in the diffuse Chanel and the rendering it on a plane with the camera straight in (in ortho mode). Just bloody convoluted.
But, no, not insulted

Rhino-hide skin me.

Okay Juanjo - 1.12 is out!!!... get crankin'!
Sun Size, Sky Color and Sunset Color are wicked!!... as I mention in the
1.12 thread - when you crank sun size all the way up and pull down the
sky and sunset colors, you are now rendering products (etc) as if you
were in a studio with some soft boxes... no HDRI's needed! Oh my gosh
this rocks!.. and now one could do some proper alien planets... if one
were so inclined...
Many other goodies obviously.. but the daylight stuff knocked my friggin'
socks off... back to playin'.
Chop Chop Juanjo!!.. Chop Chop!

Background image is what I'm keen to get. This plugin is eating my time up

You can work now with a background image inside the plugin. LW compositing features works with Octane, you only need to enable the alpha channel in the kernel options.

Yeah,
Seems you got a lot of things right, right out the gate, Juanjo. Others are requesting image sequence support...
Buffers are the thing I want them to invest some time in. That or you, Juanjo, being able to let us use tools like extrader with Octane.
Kudos to you, Juanjo.
