me too i'm also a c4d user
i know that you can buy only plugin or plugin+standalone, but Otoy can response more correctly

Also recently i did a test project for testing a job pipeline which rendered completely with Octane for C4D, and that have demonstrated solidify for me.
I used low samplings however Animation renders completed in a short time without any flicker or defect

The plugin is a free download that you can use with the demo.

Just can't wait for beta.

After a closer look at the plugin page, it appears you DO need the stand alone version for it to work.

But I'll try the demo or beta first and see how easily it integrates.

I remember trying Octane a while ago and it was cool, but was kind of impractical for me since I couldn't really get animations or anything into it very easily. But now I'm interested all over again. Looking forwad to this!

Not yet any demo or beta download link. Also you will not need a standalone to work. It's fully integrated.
After the newyear, you can expect some news.

The reason I thought you did is because it had the bundle with the other ones and it said to get that one if you didn't have stand alone.

Someone from Otoy will need to confirm this, however my understanding is that whilst OctaneRender Standalone is not required to run the various plugins, a license for it IS required. So to run the Octane plugin for C4D, you will need both plugin and Standalone licenses (thus the combo pack).
