Hi Karba!
Here's the screenshots for comparison:
max

octane standalone

Equal material settings. 200 samples Direct Light

rendered images:
max
takes about four minutes to render

octane standalone
takes about one minute to render

as you can see render from octane standalone are cleaner and four time faster!

I have work a bit with Octane, and it's quite amazing. ;)

I have two questions:

1 What is better to do, working on 3dsmax with Octane or export to the mesh to standalone edition? :?

2 I don't succeed to find the : The Export Script for 3ds Max on the forum, ma2octane?, can you give me the link please? :?:

Sorry for my poor english, i'm french.

@Karba,

any news about the 2.59?

I'm reading now about a falloff and color correct node....very interesting.

Will you implement the instancing feature as technological preview?

Regards

If you create archviz scenes then go for Octane for Max....If you love character animation and are you interested for the standards used in all cg studios then go for Octane for Maya.

Hi, thanks for your answear.

I work with Autodesk Revit and Autocad Architecture, (i have the premium pack). So yes, i think it's better to stay with the plugin of max.

I just start woking on it, and of course i have many problems ( light and maps). I have to work a bit more.....

Do you know where i can find the: The Export Script for 3ds Max on the forum, max2octane?
i would transfer file for testing them in the standalone version, but without using .OBJ?

Thanks again

Best regards
