Octane is much better Thanks, but i'm still having a crash with daz 4.9, Octane 3.1.1.23 (64 bit) browser button
With only two users experiencing this problem, it is almost impossible for me to fix, because I cannot reproduce the crash in my Debug environment. Do you have another PC that you can test the plugin on to see if the crash happens there pls?
Paul

Hi,
Since the 'new' ocds licensing was implemented (started with the Beta version) Daz crash at start.
During beta I was able to rollback to a previous version that used old authentication and that was working again. But this is no more possible.
I tried all ocds release since and cannot use Daz while ocds is installed. Just uninstalling it and Daz run fin again.
When it was happening the main tab opened at the top of the gui in my daz env was the Octane render tab, hence I was able to 'see/captured' visually that it crash while the activating bar is progressing at the bottom of the tab.
There is really something wrong with the 'new' activation.
I cleared all ocds files link to Daz reset pref in Daz, clear all octarender Appdata files ref... but it is still crashing.
Note that at the end of ocds setup the activation is working properly and shows as activated and also octane standalone is working fine.
Just uninstalling the pluggin and Daz run perfectly fine again.
I really can't see what to try next, opened to any suggestion or test to finally be able to use it again :-/
ps: If needed, I stored the DAZ log.txt from fresh first start after ocds install and save the appdata\roaming\OctaneRender folder from the same moment newly created too. Tell me me if some other file could be needed to and if you want them for analysis
Regards,
Emmanuel

Yes, there are a couple of other users experiencing this issue. Otoy have been working on this as a high priority, and think they now have a fix - which I should have in a few days to add to the DAZStudio plugin. So I hope this will be resolved shortly. Sorry for the hassle you have experienced.

Good news that you may have a solution to the authentication issue, both this and the Poser plugins just crash the respective programs.
I can only imagine how frustrating it is for you having to track down an authentication issue on what must appear to you as a working plugin but any help getting these to work would be much appreciated.

I have updated the installer at the top of this thread with:
3.2.0.23
- Compiled with Octane 3.02
This version should resolve the crash on startup for users who experienced that problem on the previous release.

Happy to report that the AppCrash has gone the way of the dinosaurs (but less meteor impacts!)
I have also re-updated nVidia drivers and have gone back (forward?) to 368.22 (CUDA 8.0) and all seems to be fine.

Continuing to play and seem to be getting an error if I request a Reload of scene:
DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\3D\DAZStudio4\octane.dll" at 0033:0000000012E45674, luaopen_base()+2386916 byte(s)

Anybody else getting an issue of not being able to open the latest 2 update installers?
I haven't been able to update from 3.0.20.22 because every time I double click on the updater nothing happens; it doesn't look like it opens at all as it doesn't appear on the task manager and instead makes my Windows Explorer unresponsive.
I have tried redownloading the installers but it didn't help.
