I'm new to this kind of rendering and I want to ask, what would do to get rid of the lines besides post-processing? Render longer?

What do you mean? What lines?

Quadro 4000
1.18 MS
2.25 FPS
Using the settings from the video.
Waiting for a 2GB GTX 460 (besides the Palit), but nobody has them for sale.

How much time did it take with Vray with the same hardware configuration? More or less? And final quality?
Thank you

Meh, I get to the same no. of samples on the same graphic card with 2.3v5 in 01:33 = 12% of difference

That's a disappointing speed increase :( and probably only due to optimizations.

So, I'm still not getting it; is Octane in 2.4 with cuda 3.2 using all the cores or not?!

Well, beats me  I think only one of the developers can answer that question. We can just guess :) heheh

P.S. I added bench result with alphashadows turned off.

I'm not sure myself, although the cuda driver now returns the correct number of cores in use,
the fact that using a GPU performance analysis tool both 3.2 and 3.0 builds use the same percentage of GPU usage,
it looks like 3.0 was using everything too, however i can't say for sure, as i can only see what the performance tools tell me...

On the other hand, the 3.2 builds should be using the GPUs to the maximum extent.

Ok tried the benchmark scene:

My specs:
AMD 1055T with 3 cores switched on and OC at 3.5GHZ
2GB ram
Gigabyte GTX460 1MB
Octane V2.42 (Latest)
Win7 64bit
Nvidia Drivers 266.58

time 3 mins 20secs to complete 4000 samples. GPU Usage only 85% - so no point in running it again with an overclock on the card.

Me thinks you may need a new heavy duty test scene and every one running the new test to compare with.

something that maxes the cards out.
