I agree. I'm hungry to see some GPU-powered instances and render times. :P

Hi guys,

Instancing is still in development, this thread is about SSS.
We'd rather spend our time getting the next release ready than post more previews.
We're still hard at work though, and there is much left to do, so don't expect something tomorrow... ;)
It takes time to do it right.

hey, I guess my little question wasn't noticed, so I ask again ;)
So with instancing we could have like 1000 trees that are the same meshes, but no extra rendertime/memory usage?

rendertime will increase a bit but not by much (actually it depends on your instance count) but not added memory :)

very good news on the SSS and Instance feature...cant wait try the max plug as well :)

Take time as mutch as you need. I like to wait a bit longer for a more stable release with less bugs.
But you do a very good job anyway ;-)
