Hi marshalartist,
it doesn’t make much sense to me to use the Master also as Slave daemon.
The Master firstly prepare the scene for internal GPUs and starts rendering, then it sends the already prepared scene to the Slaves, and when finished, all the GPUs are rendering together.

Same here, always kinda didnt understand why it can use Master as slave, but didnt ask about this feature before, but its cool that its disabled by default now.

Sorry if kind irrelevant, but since u mentioned slaves etc. I wanna ask the opposite:
Is it possible to not use the gpus of my master and just use it for coordinating the slaves? Or at least if i uncheck some gpus on master, will those be ignored? Im asking this cause sometimes i dont wanna push master to its 100% in long renders so its stable and doesnt crash or anything overnight.
thanks

Thanks Beppe, I did suspect as much but it was good to see all the available GPU's is use the way we did it before even if it made no difference. We are not dropping slaves now it seems pretty stable.

Hi thanulee,
no, it is not possible to disable all the GPUs in the Master (only Blender plugin can do this).
You need at least one active GPU on the Master to start c4doctane plugin, so yes, you can disable other GPUs on the Master, if necessary.

Great to hear about good stability!

Hi Aoktar!

I have noticead bug with Octane Scatter.

When I use .csv file as Distribution source, and I have multiple objects used for scattering, its scattering only first object in the hierarchy.
We currently want to use .csv's for current project , but this bug is making everything more complex.
Grouping everything under null also doesnt work.

Hi there!

I have a Question: Is the Ver. 4.01.1 only for Users with the full license ?

I work with the OctaneRender® Subscriptions (rent) Version.
The V4.00 works, but with 4.01 i have a license problem.

THX!
