Hi darkline,
I tested V4 using 3dsMax 2014, autosave doesn't stop and restarts render.
Any clues to understand?

Hi Paride,
basically when octane viewport is open once autosave begins not only everything freezes for 2-3 min but after that octane starts rerendering octane viewport from 0 samples again like the window got just opened.

UPDATE: That's in octane 3 I guess in 4 it is fixed

HI guys,
3ds Max temporarily freezes with very large files to backup (in my case 3dsMax freezes with 600MB files but this is quite normal using harddisk and often C :\).
I have found temporary freeze but not sample restart issue using V4, and this is V4 release forum thread.
I will test sample restart issue using V3.

I had it on v4, but on a different max file it was fine and did not re-render on autosave (lower poly). It may be linked to having the VRAM maxed out and it having to use CPU ram too. Perhaps then this is where it occurs. Unfortunately I cannot test as I've reverted back to v3 for the moment; I suspect that the same file size which renders fine in v3 is now taking up more VRAM on v4 and that's where my problems are coming from.

Hi Paride,
otoy promised us to get Phoenix Wet map to work with octane as a mask texture. Currently it renders wetmap particles as mesh and it is really useless. Do you know when they will make it happen?

Thank you

One object in my scene is not always rendered. ( an octane proxy tree ). Sometime yes, sometimes no.
I have a lot of memory left, alone it render fine,...
It is a still render, just one frame. I render with octane viewport window.
Win 7 - nvidia titan X and 1080 ti, driver 388.13

Hi HHbomb,
are you using displacement map?

I don't use displacement on this object, but I have displacement in the scene.

Hi Elvissuperstar007,
this issue will be fixed in V4 6.07 and V3 5.16.
