actually working a project (lw2018 win64) with 1 high-poly character and there is a huge latency time for the "UDATING TO GPU" phase : strange because during this, the CPU is working at 40% max. (on i9 7940x 14cores). after, during rendering, CPU is at 0.7% (ok).
There is also big latency time... otherwise, the plugin works very nicely but t seems the latency time was so slow on previous octane versions with lw2015, if i remember well

Google "octane four cores"

Do you have the motion blur enabled? In any case, I suppose that this pre-processing time is going to be improved a lot in Octane 4
Thanks,

Hi,
no, there is no MB enabled, just a rigged hi-polys character (body+clothes+maps+fibers) with 2 4K maps. The latency time is around 15 secs when processing/reloading the scene. As already said, it seems it does not take care about all processor available when doing this multithreaded opration...
So i'll wait Octane 4 !
thanks

Hello Juan,
i send to you with wetransfer a packaged scene, which makes Octane IPR freeze (at the very first step 'loading' ) : no crash, just a freeze....
thanks

Thanks for the scene. I have a possible fix for this rare issue that I'll include in the next plugin build, but I can send you a custom plugin build if you need it now for your production.
Thanks,
-Juanjo

BorisGoreta wrote:Transmission value of a specular material is affecting OpenGL transparency. Since this value is often 100% these objects are invisible in the viewport.
I've fixed this issue for the next plugin build to make the object always slightly visible.
Thanks,
-Juanjo

If an object is a collection of 2 point polygons and has an octane enable polygonal hair on it renders fibers as expected. But when you hop to Modeler, change something ( even only position of points ) and hop back to Layout, IPR doesn't render the fibers anymore. Do we really need a full reload on every change to 2 point polygons ?

I've been meaning to ask this as well.. It does suck to have to do a full reload.
