Thanks for the info!
Wouldn't suppose "only" 2 GTX580 - and "only" 20h.
Must be well adjusted, both the system and the Kernel Dl - AO ;)

I have held off increasing the texturemap name length from 50 for the moment, since it relies on changing the format of the "default material" files, and some irregularities with this approach have been uncovered on one of the other plugins, so I want to get it working flawlessly before implementing this in the AC plugin.

Hi Paul,
(Working with 2.21 test now.)
Back to texturemap name length.. I am getting this error when saving the Archicad file,
but what is my problem working with these long texture names? It does nog save them to project file, but they are showed in the render!
greetz,

Proxy material name length is still set to the long 50 char limit. I will fix this in the next release (a day or two away).

2.21.1.40
- Fixed issue where saving Octane data to the pla/pln was not reloading correctly

My apologies for the issues found in the previous 2 test releases.

Hi Paul,

I have opened a complex scene in 2.21 which I am working on in 2.16.
With 2.21 everything seems fine.
I tried to see the out of core texture working. I gues it starts to fill out of core whin gpu RAm is 100%, right?

When enlarging the resolution Archicad quick quit (had this earlier, remember).
I'll try again enlarge resolution in little steps to slowly fill Vram and see out of core get in use.
Or is there something else to fill out of core and spare vram?

'Use with caution'?
Should I better proceed with 2.16 for my project?
Is it still with lot of risks testing 2.21 with project?

greetz, Jeroen

edited: Filling up vram by enlarging resolution does not force to use out of core.
How does out of core work, and how can I test it?

And will that be in the 2.16/2.17 versions or in the test versions, or both?

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:

2.22.2.41
- Compiled with Octane 2.22.2. Refer to Octane 2.22.2 Standalone release notes for details.
- Pin changes to the Thin Lens and Panoramic camera stereo settings
- Fixed issue where proxy material names has not been extended to 100 characters
- Limited the maximum render resolution to 8000x8000. Resolutions above this crash the ArchiCAD widget used to display the Viewport
* Due to the above issue, I have not been able to implement Viewport Zooming, since the ArchiCAD Viewport widget would run out of memeory once you rendered > 2000 x 2000 pixels
* Looked at implementing a Loading Scene dialog with a Cancel button, however the ArchiCAD Photorenderer already has a progress, and ArchiCAD does not support having more than one progress dialog window on the window at once, so this cannot be done.
And will that be in the 2.16/2.17 versions or in the test versions, or both?
The 2.22.2 version. The 2.16 version still has the old 50 character material name restriction.
