Hi.
I didn't try to make any images with C4D for a long time, as I was bored with the complexity of 3D rendering.
I saw updates for Octane on the forum so I decided to give it a try.
But I'm disappointed.
It's overelaborated. Who can actually use all the features of such software ?
It's not against you guys, I'm just tired of it. I already spent too much time in front of computers trying to make my ideas live.
So I tried new ways, and I'm pretty happy of the road I took.
I was simply trying to use the rounded edges feature.
I tried with a simple extrude + spline, didn't work. Then I converted it to polygons, same thing. (OSX 10.10.1 + C4D R15)
Actually, I don't even care for a solution, I think I'll live without 3D rendering.

1.Use Background.Object with Octane Diffuse Material > Image Texture
2. Kernels Setting > alpha channel > on.
You can get BG.
We Hope Support Quicktime Texture. (Note. You can use quicktime. but only first frame)

Hello,
Network render does not work in RC1 /RC2 , I have ''invalid version'' message in daemon overview window.
Do you have any solution for this.

Hi. Just fired up RC2 and I notice that the camera doesn't seem to automatically update now, when I alter focal depth and aperture, like it did in previous versions. To see the results, I have to resend the entire scene. Could someone take a look?
EDIT: Ah, this was because I had the Live Viewer docked as a tabbed window. When it's floating, the updates happen automatically as usual. Can this be fixed?

Hi ahmet,
please could you explain a bit more how to use masks, because
something is going strange here.
I have attached several object tag with activated "object ID"
and "Layer-IDs" from 1 to 6 to lost of objects.
You said, for using mask only, there is no need for activation
"Render Layers" in render settings - only checking "Render Layer Mask IDs" boxes.
I've also activated "Alpha Chanel" in Kernel.
But from my 6 masks (ID1 - ID6) only mask ID"5" is rendered
(Mask ID1 is white and the rest is completely black)
and only 2 objects with mask ID5 are considered.
But I have 3 objects assigned Object Tag with Layer ID5
So in gerneral masks gets rendered, but not all.
Can I only put "1" object tag with ID to only "1" object?
Is this a limitation or do I miss something here?

mike, have you checked the samples scene in first page? It's generating some passes plus three render masks additionaly. No need to select objectid or other passes to generate layerid from objecttag.
