That's great Sighman! Several users (including me!) have noticed that HowieFarkes scenes are slower to interact in 8.5 than in 8.1 - could the reason be connected with the Assembly Room loading hi-res trees, and was it an influence of the OR4C plugin, or is that still a separate issue. I'll do some tests but thought you view would be useful.

I'll try that and any other suggestion you have tomorrow and get back to you.
Well I got so far breaking it down but basically the scene won't import into a fresh scene, even bit by bit. Something is amiss with the scene it would appear so I've hit a dead end and will have to use one of the alternatives outlined above. Perhaps in the future someone else gets this issue and the diagnostics from that scene will shed some light on this issue.

That is exactly the reason I have added the switch. I don't know why 8.5 is so much slower that 8.1 but this switch should address this issue. The only alternative was to uninstall the plugin.

I'm up and rendering again.

Used an infinite plane in the distance, stretched it to size and make window glass transparent to avoid unwanted bounce off of the plane. Not ideal but workable.

re: New features. Can't wait to try out those render passes. That's a potentially huge saving in render time. I'll get back to you on that. Nice one!

re: Switching camera. Works first time, but after a few switches I'm getting the render camera (in the render room), not the one I've selected. I can give more on this if you need it.

All heading in the right direction though!

:)

I'll spend a little time this weekend adding some diagnostics that might help me track down this issue.

Orion_uk has also reported camera selection issues. I'll try and track that one down too.

Another little bug (i think I mentioned it before but if you are looking at stuff this weekend..)

The filename prefix within the Animation tab is still not saved with the scene. I think I read that this was fixed. Certainly the Render target settings that I've used are being stored in the scene, which is a great improvement.

Thanks.

Hi Sighman,

Can't post screen shot until I get home (but no real need as you have seen it a few times before) but the 'blue/white issue' when clicking in RTS is back again! Just thought you may want to know ;)

I second that on the blue/white issue. I got it today selecting an option just off of the left hand side twice in reasonably quick succession.
