and I am sorry about my obvious question, but it does happen just because Hair and Fur isn't going smooth for Karba.
Actually everyone(including myself) could use some politeness, because Octane is not Beta anymore !!

Do I need any realflow plugin to test. We don't have it at the moment.

yes. You need plugins. But I think it is not only realflow. i check this and write here.

I check. vertex motion blur doesn't work only with realflow mesh.

Hi Karba. Can I ask you, what about my case?

I have checked your scene.
Are you sure you didn't change displacement amount or shift before next opening?

I tried to open octane viewport several times. Result was always the same.

Since it's not beta, then I expect features to work as advertised. And I also expect that I don't have to act like a beta tester anymore.

I usually start looking for other alternatives when a developer doesn't want to have an open dialog with it's customers. (same thing as with Autodesk lately.)
But Octane has so much potential.
It is none of my business if Karba has skills or not. It is his job to contact Autodesk and to get help/docs for the sdk. If other engines can do it, then it is possible. I do understand, that it is tricky and requires more effort than other features. But nobody said it has to be easy. By taking our money he took the responsibility.

- just remembered, Otoy and autodesk are in some sort of a partnership - Autodesk should be collaborating all they can with this

like those earlier posts
http://venturebeat.com/2011/10/20/otoy- ... -platform/

- and it feels like 3dsmax plugin needs more than 1 person to hande all the things one developer doesn't have the time to handle, like the smaller bits

- it's a lot of work just keeping tracks of what you've done and what needs to be fixed, just try some simple scripting with a lot of code / you get lost in that pretty quick if you're not zoned in, even though it's basic stuff - just a lot of stuff needs more attention and work.. and you get sick to the stomach if you have to force yourself into it - that is when fun stops and work begins..

- anyways, whatever octane does now (or Karba actually cause I don't use the standalone), I'm pretty much hooked, instead of whining a lot :), I'm trying to workaround the problem if possible, treat bugs as features :), and try scripting for the things I think I need.. been thinking/trying to get into other rendering software - most of them just don't cut it anymore, I'm used to the interface and the system - even with slow interiors, I will still take octane over anything else - only used corona render so far, on a laptop with no internet connection (BTW it also got net render, works the same way octane one does, simple, but with no restrictions, cause it is free)..

I totally agree with Suvakas, it is totally nonsense that this software is being sold as a "final" when it is still a very beta one, i had so much troubles working with it, i can be confident to say that this is not production ready at all, am a customer since version beta xx, but now after nearly 5 years i feel totally dissapointed i dont know if the Autodesk influence is getting stronger in Otoy, selling beta products as final (example 3ds max and the neverending bug fixes as features) honestly, i think this software has a great potential, i just changed to corona render and i find it awesome and the way they are developing it and how is oriented, and for sure corona is production ready, depsite the fact that is a clearly said BETA. am really upset to be honest about this way of making business.
