Yes and no. Yes it does cut the image. But unlike V2 standalone the noise clearing rate doesn't increase. Is like just cropping the big render in PS.

At the risk of sounding like a weenie - since the 2.0 release (~ 2 months) I think I've counted four Maya plug-in releases. During the same period, we've received exactly zero releases for Blender. My money is on a 2.05 Maya release landing 1st thing tomorrow. I think there will likely be an MS Office plug-in before blender plug-in lands.

Yep, first Maya plugin - more customers - then Blender. We need to clone JimStar.

Well what I find most annoying is the fact that 2.70 has some really ugly bugs that crash blender a lot. And the fact the Jim didn't update to 2.71 doesn't help the cause. It is so annoying to have to switch to 2.71 just to be able to work and then back again to octane version of blender to render.

I just uninstalled for now. I can live without octane plugin for 2-4 weeks. Assuming/Hoping/Wishing that the Blender Plugin does get updated by then.

JimStar works hard imho but more maya users than blender. And dont forget blender is a special case because of the gpl

One question. As I see it now, and from the lack of instructions in the plugin manual, instances are not yet supported. Is that correct?

Instances are in 1.55. See towards the bottom of http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Blender/?page_id=51

I would like to suggest a feature: a kind of “Copy From Active” button for the Mesh Octane Properties (at least for the Mesh type). Sometimes it takes really lots of time to set this properties to all objects. One of the best examples is fractured objects: when you have 1k-10k pieces setting their type is challenging )

I know that I may override types, but I prefer to keep separate settings for different objects in scene.

Thanks!
