Wow, what a douche thing to say. I offered nothing derogatory about your gear, so how how come I get that as a reply?

And when have PCs EVER been 'non-hoop-jumping'? How many security apps, bolt-ons and and patches are you running to make it a bearable experience?

I'm not going to lower myself to your level: best of luck with your PC. I'll stick with my lovely smooth-running Mac, thank you.

Easy bro, the smiley at the end denotes it was said in jest.

However in reply, no patches or bolt ons just straight windows 8.1. Never used a virus or security app on this machine and its been running like a dream since day 1. Having the freedom to use any hardware in it I like is also quite relieving.

I bet those new mac pros are lovely smooth, but they wont be running Octane any time soon ;)

Okay, well it didn't sound in jest. However I agree about the new Mac Pros; I was really hoping to see Apple deliver a 'pro' system for everyone, not just video editors. Fortunately mine is an older 12-core system, which runs Octane just fine.

I have two same system... that's enough for all projects

Oh - nice - I am running only GTX 780 TI x 2 plus one GTX 670.

What is the overall power consumption on heavy load? My machine is eating nearly 1 KW when renedering with Octane ... :-(

yes, please buy one and tell us how it works on your mac and with octane :)
havent seen any report about this, and it is a significant investment :)

Fuse animation http://www.fuseanimation.com use it - the one guy has an "uber rig" with 7 GTX Titan Black cards, three in his PC, four in the Netstor breakout box. I can't image in how quick that is (or how much it cost!)

This promo was rendered using their kit: https://vimeo.com/85391326

FYI, the Netstor runs the GPUs as quickly as if the cards were in the computer itself.

Hi,
This is a sample for about feature which is asked by many people. Particle engine option. It's very raw and experimental. I wish to see efficiency of Octane under high numbers of particles. Nothing is special to 2.0 except random color node. Available in 1.53. Btw, i have some ideas for that in future, with some extra support from developpers of particle plugins.
