There is an transparency effect in the shader tree, the second image on the picture is set to 'stencil.'
Good point. How do you want the Octane nodes setup for stencil? Is stencil effectively identical to the Effect "Transparency Amount"?

Here's comparison between a MODO preview render window (left) and the Octane preview (right) with the same outer size. You can see that the MODO window respects the aspect ratio of the final resolution while fitting the whole camera view in the window. The Octane window zooms in and crops off parts of the camera frame.
I will investigate this.

For that particular case, my guess is just enabling Octane to work with the RGBA effect. Just paste a png image with transparency and Octane should be able to render it properly. That would be the simplest approach, I think. To me the RGBA effect in Modo just makes the stencil effect obsolete (for that particular case I mean)

I have posted a small 'stability' update to the plugin - download from the "Download Links" in the first post of this thread. Once all stability issues are fixed (and hopefully this release will achieve this), I will start making some of the changes people have requested.
1.33.0.42
- Fixed crash when closing the Modo scene with the Octane Viewport still open
- Fixed bug where changing the Modo Angle of View was not updating the Viewport
- The Viewport Window now displays the zoom percent (if not at 100%)

There is a simple explanation for this...The Octane render view in Preview Mode is changing Octanes render resolution depending on how big you scale the Render window. Modos Preview Window at the other hand is displaying the render image by scaling it down keeping the aspect ratio of the choosen render resolution. These are two different incomparable solutions. We discussed the behaviour of the render window while in closed beta and decided to leave it as it is. I think it will be a feature for later development in conjunction with the docked viewport...

I am pretty sure, when Paul is reaching it's goals with the Mac version and is doing the long term stuff, we will have a good discussion about this...

Hello everyone , some finds and reports.
1.Tried rendering some animation , fond the following issues with it.
1.1-the naming of the files is a bit nuts(see attached images) , guess ideal scenario for this is having a proper animation render dialog setup.like names , paths , timeframe etc.
1.2-there was other files on that folder(the folder you set on the prefs) and they were left there blending up with my new render sequence
edit-they all have odd numbering , so naturally they just blended.
1.3-animation keeps rendering for ever , even when it reaches the especified time limit.
1.4-no exr output , only PNG
1.5-Plugin re imports all the geometry every frame.even if nothing is changing
1.5-(suggestion) should have a way to add post effects(like glare and such) in a bach , so you could have both versions.
Cheers
Raf
