Get well man, it's surprising that you got operation and still manage to be active in forum..
Calm down, we are all excited about what happening here in Octanes world and how you change the world of rendering, but you'll have to find some more time to relax..this is serious stuff, and you'll risk too much if you don't...

All the best Andrian.

I was reading the first page, can someone tell me what is MLT and how it's going to be useful for us ?

MLT stands for Metropolis Light Transport, an algorithm that helps solve some difficult areas for raytracing. It is very good in some situations that traditional raytracers struggle with, such as scenes lit with indirect light or very small light sources. It also eliminates the problem of the 'fireflies' that appear in some scenes.
Also things like caustics are also greatly sped up.
From what Radiance has said on the forums, he has some ideas to improve on MLT, so what ends up in octane may have a different name in the end :)

For those who are interested, follow that link: http://rivit.cs.byu.edu/a3dg/publicatio ... torial.pdf
You'll found there, a nice explanations about MLT and how exactly it helps the renderer.

And for those who don't care about numbers, see that examples:
Bidirectional path tracing: Image
Metropolis light transport: Image
Just to point out, Octane uses brute (single) pathtracing, and yet outperform many render engines ...

As people say: one picture worth as thousand words.. :D

one thing to remember is that we aren' t implementing MLT as in the usual MLT.
we're bulding something new more suitable for GPUs.

You'll find out when we launch the first beta 2.3 RCs.
