Impressive. Make leaves more glossy and SSS.

Absolutely right Smicha. I'm reworking a lot of the vegetation materials now.

Starting with grass:

This grass material will be made available to all Phantom Scatter users, I think it behaves pretty well.

I've reworked the entire scene and learned a lot about lighting, materials, optimizing Octane...

I'll post it in the Gallery section of the forum once it's all done.

Here is one of the shots:

Is is possible to use an octane scatter object without phantom scatter? In other words, is there any other(free) way to generate the .csv file? I really want to use this feature and it kinda sucks if you have to spend more money on another program to utilise it :/

Hey guys,

Long time since I've updated Phantom Scatter, it has really matured into a great tool for production work and I'm pretty proud of the capabilities. :)

I'm currently working on Phantom Scatter 1.9 c, which will be a small update with a big impact for everyone using Octane Render standalone. Apart from fixes for rare bugs, the next version will have a feature that can automatically put XML data on your clipboard when you export *.CSV data. This will allow you to simply press CTRL+V inside Octane Render standalone and it will automatically create the Scatter nodes for your. It will even create Geometry group nodes automatically to pair together nodes that are variants of the same scatter object -- super convenient! And ofcourse it will create the names for your automatically so you can tell which is which by simply looking at a scatter node's name. This is going to be a major streamline in Phantom Scatter ---> Octane Render workflow. :D

You have good reasons to be proud.!
That is a great feature... I am wondering about plugins?

rappet, that is totally up to the developers of those plugins! I know some developers got it to work when importing XML camera data from Phantom Photo Match to a plugin... so I'm sure this is possible too. As soon as 1.9 c is out, you can try contacting the developer of the plugin you want to have supported and hope they are willing to work on supporting this.

Here are some pics of work I did with Phantom Scatter + Octane Render:

The ivy in the first pic was done using a seperate tool...but heck, I might bring that to Phantom Scatter some day...

I asked about is some times ago, so if anything changed - is it possible to add to PS a kind of physics algorithm that would simulate scatters from e.g stones and create piles of stones so that they would not intersect?
