Hi. I will be looking looking after DazStudio plugin updates moving forward.

The first step will be to get an Octane 2.24.2 version released. I need to know that the 2.24.2 release is as stable as previous releases, so that I know that the build process is working correctly. I will get that release out this weekend.

After that I will look to start addressing the above list.
Thanks

Paul
Hi Paul,

That's great to hear. I have other set of problems with the last release that is different than what has been posted here. I will send you a PM with the issues. Almost all can be reproduced every time and I will give you the step by step steps for each one. You can prioritize them. Most should be small issues that can be resolved easily.

Warm regards,
Rajib

Whomever is "keeper of the bug list", please add my show-stopper'ish bug (read: crash every time with no recourse aside from regedit) here:

viewtopic.php?f=44&t=47686&start=340#p254293

Thank you!

And welcome to the team face_off!!! GREAT news.

Given I currently have limited knowledge of the plugin, I would rather people didn't PM individual issues to me. I will be able to push through far more fixes if someone compiles a consolidated, prioritised list.

I am trying to put together a reworked list that covers all the issues mentioned and tries to put them into different priority categories this evening.

Unfortunately it cannot be helped that I will be biased when putting together the list.
Therefore I will also create a new thread with a poll so people can vote which issues they consider high priority.

I guess the poll will then give some kind of feedback if the list I put together was extremely biased from my point of view or if I more or less hit the general mood what is important or not.

I hope to publish this list and the poll in a few hours.
If you already started with a list on your own let me know...

Thanks Linvanchene for offering to prioritize our list!

Initial thoughts-

We have network rendering as a high priority.

I would say a basic one is the materials conversion of a Genesis 3 Figure into OcDS, an issue that would be a top one for most, certainly affects everyone and forces reliance on workarounds. Some Iray materials convertred into OcDS are straight up unworkable (hair, eyelashes, eye components) so we use the 3Delight materials. However, OcDS takes 3Delight skin in as having a Normals map with a power of '2', which causes toonish textures in the Natural sunlight environment (issue doesn't occur when using HDR environment). So, we have resorted to turning the Normals node off, or setting the power to '0' after the conversion.

Another basic is inability to save Materials settings from OcDS (button lets you import, but not export...). I do not think anyone had a workaround for this.

On another note...Hello, Paul!
We look forward to your talents and working together with you!
We understand this takes time.

Thank you Notiusweb!

I finished making a new draft of the "FORUM LIST FOR OcDS V2.2FORUM LIST FOR OcDS V2.2" Notiusweb started and added a poll so everyone can add their preferences:

OcDS Poll: High Priority Issues and Request

viewtopic.php?f=44&t=51398

Add your voice so face_off has some kind of feedback which issues and features users consider high priority.

That's great linvanchene. Thanks for doing that. I will check that out and post any additional issues I faced that are not listed.
