Great stuff NEX but I think you got AA problems... you should try to render with following Radiance's tutorial. It's on the Resource part of the forum!
Also would be lovely to see some sun love going on

Yeah, i know...but i couldn't render it in resolution any higher than this...it just keeps crashing. Registry hack just gives me more time, but crashes anyway
As for the sun- i'll see 'bout that, thx

Just out of curioity: I've read the first post'cause I didn't remember rules and prizes. No licenses as prizes? I would trade an evermotion dvd with a license

(don't get me wrong, evermotion dvd's are great).

Thanks Radiance and Roubal.
@Roubal, when you refer to the last, I understand that you mean the order of images in my post, precisely because the latter is the first thing I did. In fact it is with the beta1 where there was no alpha, or normal map, etc ... With the beta2 redid the scene and replaced the hdr with a ldr (use linux). The first version was:
Here I put a new rendering of the scene, this time at 3000x1500 (scaled to 1500) and 1 hour.
Another version

Hi guys,
we're decided to prolongue the competition, so people have plenty of time to add more submissions with the upcoming beta2.1 version, giving mac and linux users a equal advantage.

no, it has a lot of bugfixes for windows too, but more features, including animation support, multi-gpu rendering and others.
also, i don't understand why you're copy keeps crashing. octane is rock solid nowadays, except for some nodegraph editor connection issues.
you should really try to fix it, it's probably a driver related issue.
