Upgraded to v3 yesterday, and installed the standalone and the latest v3 beta plugin for DAZ Studio (v3.0.20.22) on a recently bought laptop, so far with great success!
Thank you very much for making this possible Paul!
This laptop has a GeForce GTX 960 M GPU with 4GB of memory, and the installed driver version for it is v361.91

Render speed seems comparable to what I was used to with the Geforce GTX 770 and Octane for DAZ Studio v2.2 R2.23 in my desktop PC, but I can't compare them now because that card died a couple of weeks ago.
For the time being the laptop will have to do my rendering, and it looks like it will do that quite nicely : )

Oh, I forgot to mention I am still using DAZ Studio v4.7, and I was very happy to find I didn't have to update it to make the v3 plugin work.

Cheers!

Pls read http://poserphysics.blogspot.com.au/201 ... pport.html prior to posting support issues.

NOTE: For people who experience a DAZStudio crash after upgrading to Octane 3 - deleting C:\Users\[username]\OctaneRender\Data\OctaneRender_settings.oczdb may resolve the issue.

Thanks for your help

This is my PC configuration:

- Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64bit
- Amount of RAM: 32GB
- Graphics Card(s): GTX 980 4GB
- Nvidia driver version: 368.22
- DAZ Studio version: Pro 4.9.0.63
- OctaneRender for DAZ Studio version: DazStudio_3_0_20_22_Win64

I followed the istructions to delete this file = C:\Users\[username]\OctaneRender\Data\OctaneRender_settings.oczdb and the error that I posted in the previous post (Image) continue on the DAZ Studio Pro 4.9.0.63, Instead the DAZ Studio Pro Public Build 4.9.2.67 now works perfectly

Stupid question :

Do my saved scenes / scene subsets will work with V3 Plugin coming from latest v2 ? Or do i need to rebuild scenes ?
With updating from V1 to V2 i was in the middle of a comic project and all my sceneries build for that i had to rebuild mostly completly.

Btw. still waiting for a feature list comparison V2 and V3 Plugin and what V3 Standalone Features are in the V3 Plugin :)

They convert across to Octane 3 - no rebuilding needed.

I upgraded without doing a lot of research :) Not sure what benefits I really get at this point. I saw Liv's post about what didn't work before I bit the bullet. But I do love Octane and the OcDS plugin and want to keep trucking with my preferred software. I plan to do some testing hopefully tonight.

Glad to hear someone got it to work on 4.7, I'm still on 4.8 and don't plan to update anytime soon.

Here's the file. I've played around with both OcDS and camera settings with no luck. I won't discount user error, but I've not encountered this issue before.
I can't see any issue with this file. Can you pls provide an exact step of steps I need to take in order to reproduce this issue? Can you also post a screenshot of your Preferences settings too.

Thanks

Paul
I was able to reproduce the issue with build 3.0.20.22.

It seems build 3.0.15.21 introduced a bug in OcDS - Animations render out at a fixed Dimension value of 1024x512.

-> Dimension values set in the OcDS render settings are ignored.

- - -
Tested with
Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.9.2.67
OcDS 3.0.20.22 - described error happens
OcDS 3.0.15.21 - described error happens

OcDS 3.0.12.20 - error does not happen

-> Bug introduced with build 3.0.15.21

This only happens with animations. Rendering still images is not affected.

It seems i missed that post with the Features.
Just bought the upgrade bundle. But i also wanted to reinstall my windows installation and DAZ is still installing...seems they have some traffic jam after 4.92 release :)
