Hi,

we're supposed to use Octane 2.46 but my Stand Alone is 1.2 (?) Is 2.46 a Maya, etc version?
If I did the speed test, would it be like comparing apples & oranges?

Also, mate's 4xGTX780 renders in ~25min, but pegot's GTX 770 & GTX 550 does it in just ~7min?
Is that right??

One last question...what does the FluidMark test for? The GTX580 still does very well against
the other cards in render time, but poorly in FluidMark (?)

That's the speed at which the card(s) are capable of rendering, I believe. So higher numbers are better.

Ok, I misunderstood.....Ms/sec = ? ....mega-samples/sec?

Later (next day)...

Still don't understand what "Ms" equals (?)

I see the value in Octane during a render, but not sure why it is used as a benchmark vs render time.

I looked in the Octane User manual, but there is only one ref to it on page 98
under "Importance Sampling" and no other ref or explanation.

Just curious. ;)

I'm looking to setup a system with potentially 8 or more Titans.

What would be the ideal setup for the base systems and possible extensions?

I've read about Nestor's Turbobox? Is this generally the best method or are there other good/ reliable ways to extend? Does anyone know how Otoy have setup their cloud farms?

When you setup the Turbobox Pro it has 6 slots so with a decent MB you'd be able to connect 3 Titans one slot free for the Turbobox Connection + 6 in the Turbobox, so max 9 Titans? Is this correct or would I be running into issues?

Thanks in advance

Netstor Turbobox Pro NA250A takes 4 TITANs because they are double slot.

Juct checking in to report that there are no OpenGL issues with 6 TITANS on Windows 8, no need to have any of them in SLI.

Hi all-

I upgraded my home computer with 4 GTX 780's to help render when I'm not at work. I run Titans at work and my home computer was feeling a little slow. Very impressed so far. Right out of the box these seem to be running at 90% the speed of the Titans. A little over clocking and they should easily be just as fast. Screen shot is with PT (29.69) DL gave me a solid 90.

Nice cards for less. Of course less RAM too, but I can deal with that.

Thanks
Alec

WOW! Six TITANS! Damn. Did you post any scores here? Love to see that. Any photos?

Awesome rig man.

Three are in Asus Z9PE-D8 WS (fourth PCI slot is used to connect motherboard to Netstor expansion box) and three are in the expansion box. There is room for one more in there but local shops were out of stock at the time. :D
