Ok - I've go and give the plane a UV map and see if it makes any difference.
Thanks.

Yep - it only works on objects that have a UV map. Cheers for the assistance.

The Selected Objects feature in the IPR is especially helpful - I haven't used it before, but now I've found it very useful.
What version of LW you use ?
I noticed that in the latest LW (2020.0.3) instances are not stable

Yes, this is strange, since Octane works fine with some instances for me, but flatly refuses to work with others. Therefore, I have to create arrays from pure geometry based on cloned objects - since Octane has no problems with this. But if I make the same objects in instances, Octane instantly crushes. I have a restaurant scene - there is a cake cabinet and a bunch of sofas and armchairs. Each cake contains about the same number of polygons as a sofa or chair. But I can multiply sofas and armchairs as instances without any problems, but cakes, when trying to clone them with instances, take out LWs in an instant. But if I put these cakes together in the form of pure geometry, everything works as it should.

Now I use LW 2020.0.2 and Octane 2020.2.3.1 and turnoff Multi thread extraction because this function some time crache scene .... and I do not have any problems with instances and stability

Whenever I have crash issues with instancing and a specific object, I always go back to that object and check for crap geo, single points left over or overlapping geo from an unintentional copy and paste. This is even more so with purchased or converted assets.
Dont know if this is the case with your cake, but worth a look.

- I'm doing the same thing.

This on this old scene as exemple ( with lw plugin 2020.2.3.1 i have no problem )
