One very small thing.... if the Rolls Royce is a 1966, then the Registration plate prefix of 'F' would imply it was first registered in 1988 to 1989. if the 'F' were the suffix as opposed to the prefix, then that would be 1967 to 1968.

Otherwise, cool renders!

@Face : I rendered in 8192x4096 for hours to avoid any noise ! I will make this image printed in very large format, and adding noise is the last thing I want.

It is supposed to be in London. I live in France, and I have watched hundreds of photos of London on Google, the atmosphere was rarely pink, except late in the evening... I think that a sad grey LDR image would work better for a London atmosphere !

As I see it, your corrected image looks like the stereo filter is enabled (red/blue fringes). Maybe you borrowed Elton John's glasses ?

@tom_holly : Thank you for this interesting link about cars ID plates. I hadn't found it and used a template without much informations.

No problem, for me the image looks wrong, maybe wrong shaddows, they looks like 3-4pm or a wrong gamma.
Also I thought you want a picture that looks like a photo and not like a rendered one, thats why I add a little bit noise and blur...
And I haven´t added a stereo or lens filter, so there shouldn´t be red/blue fringes ;)

Maybe because it is 3-4pm... Is there a law in england that forbids to take photo between 3 and 4 pm ? :D

In fact , it is 10.44 am in Octane parameters. High turbidity around 8. 01 of june at London location. The gamma was set to 0.9, as I wanted to not be too bright.

Maybe you can make a little preview render with exposure 2.2, gamma 1.6, response curve off and turbidity between 8 and 16?

I will not criticize you, the models/scene is realy a great work but maybe the result with the settings i wrote is better, more like real...
You loose much detail with a gamma at 0.9 in the dark areas which makes the image plastic.
It´s only my humble opinion...

With the parameters you suggested, except exposure set to 2.5, and the material of the road and sidewalk modified a bit.

The second image is a compositing test with real background with corrected perspective (view of the Waldorf hotel - Photo from public domain).

It is just a test, so don't pay to much attention to the tree on the left : it was too close to the camera in the background photo.

Better i think, the reflections give the car a plastic look. Especially around the headlights.

The composing is also looking good for a first try. When the shadows/sunlight of both match together and the dof is the same, it would look realy good...
Happy compositing ;)

I would not suggest to use the image in the 2nd one. The light direction fights with your daylight system. If you are using the photo's light direction, then your hotel building would be in shadow. Just a thought :D

I have darkened some shinny parts to avoid to strong wrong shadows. It is mainly a perspective test. The scene should be rendered with a lighting done specially for the background image, but the background image is not good enough, because of the trees...
