starting since 4.40 version all slaves would suddenly stop rendering (no error messages) . Then a master must be restarted or slaves would not kick in rendering again. And usually when master rendering is canceled , after slaves stopped, 3ds max freezes and cannot be closed and pc must be restarted. version 4.39 never did this Hopefully you guys can trace this problem. No error messages though .


looks like it is just stuck on not updating slaves even though they are there

Octane Render 3dsMax plugin SDK 3.07 will be released shortly.
Octane Octane Render SA 3.07 Test 6 is available here:

you can use it by exporting from 3dsMax to .orbx

Hi

In this new version, if I have an alpha channel and choose to use a backplate (use viewport background), it displays fine when I first open the octane viewport; however if I lock the camera and change viewports then the background dissapears and only displays the checkered alpha. I have to close the octane viewport and re-open to get my background image back again.

Hi coilbook,
could you kindly make a test ?:
configure your master as follows:
win 7
uses 1 GPU ONLY for OS and monitor (EXCLUDE this GPU from Octane Render)
verify that all ethernet cables are at least cat6.

I do not think 4.40 has background problems in 3dsmax 2014, or I did not understand the issue.
