Chriz wrote:Yes i am just comparing rendering a scene with or without the 1080 ...

1080 renders the bench scene in PT at 32ms/s while 780 at 16-18ms/s so this is almos 2x faster.

honestly, I'm really waiting for new build of OctaneRender..- hopefully some optimizations will fix some issues for some users.

@smicha
Yes, that is how it is supposed to be
And for some reason that is not what i get at the moment. It is a miracle, but i will try everything to get it working right.
@glimpse
I would love to get some new features that are discussed in this forum a lot. But i don“t want to hijack this 1080 threat for that

1080 is almost 60-100% faster at OC than 780 - don't look at benchmark but measure speed in PT kernel for the same scene with parallel and tile samples set to max
thank you for your comment, smicha
I did right that way - parallel and tile samples at max, one scene, identical parameters in PT kernel. And the same (main) PCI slot on the motherboard.
780 gives 7 minutes 01 sec
1080 gives 6 minutes 03 sec
ps.> octane 3.05.3
the same scene rendered:
780+780 - 4 minutes 00s
1080+780 - 3 minutes 11s

What are core and memory clocks for 1080 when you render - look at MSI Afterburner.

under load
core - 1987
memory - 1128

Memory - do you mean 4x1128? 4500mhz?

install msi ab and set memory clock to 5000mhz, core clock at boost to 2000mhz. Send screenshot from octane gpus settings

Thank you, I'll try in a few hours and post result here
