Hello Ahmet,

nice work on releasing this version so fast. Over all it seem stop perform much better than 2.22, we just noticed that the great render layer functionality seems to be not working anymore. We used the function heavily with 2.22 on our latest project an just wanted to render some comparisons with 2.23.1, but noticed that none of our render layer masks are coming across.

Could that be related to the alpha material bug? Everything shows up correct within LV and we can see the mask working and generating the desired passes, but once we render to Picture viewer and select the usual render layer mask buttons all masks render rot black.

Any idea?

here is the test file. Trying to get object mask 2 + 3 to render. Its the window frame and centre top light.

I think this should not work on neither versions of plugin. Because you setted the render method as "Send all scene data". This option is causing to loose all assigned object tag functionality.

Hey Ahmet,

thanks for quick reply. We did not know that send all scene data erases all objects. Sometimes we are using send all scene data in order to get a still shot without any motion to render multiple frames with different grain, otherwise Octane renders one frame in a non changing animation and then just copies the file after 2 frames. Is there any other way to force octane to render every frame in a still animation, so that we can use it with moving grain?

Pfff.. You missed the all worklow logic of plugin. We have a bunch of new tutorials about secrets and usages of plugin. It's far better than lot of explanations. Please see them on first page...

Node Editor not working anymore. As soon as you change something like "transform" it crashes!

Problem: Activation is lost during overnight render.

Not sure if my Mac went to sleep during rendering as I had a load of frames saved without any render progress. In the morning I couldn't render at all: no devices because no activation.

At least it fixes the sleep/activation crash.

Edit: couldn't even reactivate with my user/password. Had to for quit Cinema and relaunch.

It may be a hw problem on your computer. Try deactivate/reactivate.
