Hello,

the trick is awesome. Thanks for share.

I was doing various tests and I found in some cases that when I increase camera aperture the image goes darker. But if I increase the radius of the ngon the image goes bright again. I found in my personal tests that the ratio between aperture and ngon radius is 1:1 so you can maintain the same values of the image.

I'm working right now on a animation project and I using the custom bokeh trick, the thing is I'm animating the aperture size along the camera path, so I did this simple xpresso setup that maybe you find interesting:
xpresso_aperture_radius_setup.PNG
The ngon radius is animated automaticaly depending on aperture value, on a ratio of 1:1, you also can change the ratio on the camera user data to 1:2 or whatever you want.

The file is the same that martincarlson upload, so you should save on "custom shutter" folder to link the texture.

Cheers.

Really really cool! This is why I must learn some Xpresso. Big thanks.

Maybe we could share a common folder on dropbox where us Octane C4D users share cool stuff? And if there's scenes which is updated we don't have to search hundreds of threads before finding correct stuff?

Should we share all octane c4d stuff in a shared dropbox folder? Then we don't have to search hundreds of threads looking for scenes/files etc? If interested send me an email and I'll host a folder and add everyone who's interested.

I think is a good idea to create a place to share cool stuff.

This is my email, [email protected]

Cheers!
