P.S. Are You aware that TitanZ is tripple slot card? I don't see how You're going to fit two more cards in the same case =DDD that (physical limitation) might not work =)
...
mmm. I was not aware of that
... might better save a lot of money and spend it on a 4x780Ti system.. (has best price for performance)
incase I need 6gb I still got two Titans to do the job.
thanx again.. I'll have enough info and more insigth now to talk to the reseller and discuss possible configs.
I'll keep you guys posted.
cheers

sorry to mess You up here =) but I guess it's better that You've get this now..it wouldn't be a nice surprise if You notice tripple slot Z at un-boxing =DDD..

hope at least some thoughts helped =)

Yeah.. that would be something.. un-boxing / big smile at first / then try to get it in.. / big 'oh' and then smile would be gone

I am going to sleep (or not sleep and think about it) one more night.
This is my plan for now:

Right now I got a PC (2) with gtx275 (no render) + two titans as slave for my master PC (1) with 4x580.
Writing this down makes me wonder why I need more? (the thing is.. I do not have a good backup machine as workstation, so if something happens to my 580-machine ... then: "Houston, we got a problem"
So one goal is to have a good second workstation.

Plan at this moment:

Step 1:
buy new PC (3) with TitanZ and add the two Titans Black from PC (2) as being the master workmachine 6gb with lots of space between the three cards for optimal cooling in the machine instead of having 4 cards stuck to each other. I can place the 3-slot TitanZ below of Mb and the other two above with free slot in between!
And nice side effect: for hobby I have a 12gb card for gaming.. my gamer-nephew will get crazy :P

Step 2:
empty PC (2) by removing the gtx275 and fill them with new 780Ti.
I have to figure out if this is possible?

relatively step 1 is expensive and step 2 is cheap for perfomance improvement, but
the total result I like:
PC (3) Master machine with only Titans 6gb
PC (2) slave with 3x 780Ti (3gb)
PC (1) second slave 4x 580 (3gb) and backup workmachine if PC (3) might fail

In future: remove 4x580 and replace with better performance cards.

Now, I hope I can dream about it and not look at the ceiling whole night... :P

cheers

I'd say, that's a nice plan, Jeroen!

Personally, I'd skip TZ in favor of better case & full loop on 3xTBs - that would give You same or even better performance at lower noise, lower temps -> longer lifespan of Your cards, better workspace =)

cheers

Yeah... I know Glimspe... Maybe I should...
(If you mean watercooling with 'full loop', right?)
I am gonna stick with plan described as above; aircooling and the flexibility of swapping GPU in future,
(Like I am gonna do now with swapping Titan form one to new machine... I love this flexibility)
The new machine will be with MB MSI X99S Gaming 9 AC - Socket 2011-3 - EATX
And when stikking the TitanZ in the lowest slot (I use case Cosmos II) there will be space for two Titans above Titan Z, with one slot open space betweeen every card.
And in future I can add a fourth dual-slot card When I want to fill it to the max, by moving them together without open slot space.
I know the case Cooler Master Cosmos II is big, heavy, not the best for silent aircooling,
But i bet it will make less sound then my current machine and I bet I won't pick it up that much, not to hurt my back ;)
Thanx for all the help guys.. I will definitely order the new config today... Bad news for my wallet, good news for my renderheart :
Cheers,

That's a sick plan =) actually it's very good idea!

reminds me how Alienware solved it with Area51
- they spaced 3cards with extra slots between =)

Hi glimpse,
I like sick plans :x
And I like the Area51, that is a sick case :D
Wish there was more like them to choose from.. Maybe there is.
"The Truth is Out There"

Two years ago I almost considered this Antec case
But I stll do no not know if I like or dislike it
http://images.hardwarecanucks.com/image ... st2_sm.jpg

Anyway, maybe we should start another new thread about cases, if there is not one already.

And anyway, I already ordered the new config and I will probably post a photo showing the cards on the mobo in the (too-heavy-)case :geek:

mm, interesting choise! =)

Yeah, for sure we can to start new thread with some interesting case's for some other to keep an eye on, as it's sometimes overlooked topic, but quite important in terms of overall build - as good workflow & layout influences performance - that the difference between running cards throttled down or at full potential =)

P.S. Looking for TitanZ test results (kept curious since I've post the article about evaluating it's performance - a bit interesting whether I was not missing something) That's a beautiful (though, bit too big card =) very curious how it would perform on Octane =) & yeah, please share some pics!

I sure will share performance and pics, but it can take a little while (maybe 10 days) before I can pick it up
And then drag this %#¥#‰^*> heavy thing home like a snail ;)
