smicha wrote:(Sorry if this is not a right pace to post it) Any plans for a dual (or more) monitor setup? The nodegraph editor would be easier to work with on a separate monitor.
I've been asking for this since months, never got any response...

Actually that can be done right now with multiple monitors. It ain't the perfect solution but it does work.

So how can I get the node graph to my second monitor?
1. Set your second monitor(or the rest of the monitors) to extend from set resolution in win8(I think same for win 7). Basically this makes one huge screen.
2. The first icon in each work pane defines what the work pane will contain.
3. Resize the octane render window manually until it fits all monitors(don't just click maximize button, it will only set for that display). Remember all your monitors set as extend act as one, so you can easily resize one portion of screen into the other monitor area. Hope that make sense.
4. Now play with your work panes in octane, resize them etc until you get the right size and location for each(ex: make the render area on just one monitor, same for node graph).
5. Now you got yourself a multi monitor setup for octane render. Good news is that this method works for every software.
6. Bad news is that unless the software has some method of saving your workspace(after effects, blender etc can), you will have to resize and move your windows every time you start the software again.
Buy me the 2.0 update if this works for you
Cheers.

I get it. But the problem is that the node graph and the preview window are resized at the expense of each other.

Just change what area is. See point 2. You need to do that.

Thanks! That's pretty useful.

yeah ok, but if you get detachable windows, that can independently be maximized, it would much easier to use.

Sure...but then again Ctrl+Z would also be useful. And auto attach nodes if you drop on exiting link(see blender for example. And some other stuff as well.

Ctrl+Z will be in version 2.0
