I wonder, how did you make the iris shape? I mean It's detail, made out from photo, or sculpted or painted texture?

Anoteher question: How do you make the surface so shiney? I'm having trouble making a material that's transparant and giving off reflections like that, specular or glossy.

Hi Hugues!

First off, congratulations on your skills and patience.
You certainly impress and inspire a lot of people.
Hence, I imagine, you receive a lot of questions concerning your artwork.
Please don't mind me asking, but how does the geometry of your eye exactly look like?
I don't quite understand the sclera/iris transition. (see picture green circle)
Also, the cornea and conjuctiva, are they one geometry encompassing the entire eyeball with
two different materials separated with an alpha-image? (see picture yellow circle)
And lastly, all those thin layers of geometry... are they two-sided, meaning polygons facing the inside of the eyeball (vitreous humor) and outside of the eyeball, or are they just (outwardly) one-sided?

I am really struggling with this topic and hope you are willing enough to provide some insight.

Thank you for reading.

Octavia

Holy shit EB! Yes.. Best. Eyes. Ever.

Maybe Robert Zemeckis should go back and re-render Polar Express with your eyes. Remember everyone being creeped out by those dead eyes?... Obviously some other flicks come to mind too... Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within etc....
