I do believe that sunlight is being reserved for the beta release.

Thank you for supporting Linux
I tried the demo 0.8a and can report the following.
If load the scene ChessSet the program closes with the error:
ERROR: Program executed illegal instruction.. terminating
If I try to load an hdr image in the texture_environment the program closes with the same error.
There seems to be a problem with the images.
While attempting to load a jpg to put it as diffuse in a material this error occurred:
ERROR: Program executed illegal instruction.. terminating
Cuda error in file '/home/terrence/vmod/zpipe/zpipe/src/renderer/cuda/octane_cuda_kernel.cu' in line 307 : invalid device symbol.
Since the start, with rendering paused, a core of the CPU is almost always 100% (while rendering, two cores are 100%), there was once at 0%, but I forgot I had done.
Using libfreeimage3 version 3.10.0-2
In Debian Lenny 64bit with a Core2Quad q9300 and a GTX260
Thanks and I hope that helps.

Hi,
You don't have the right version of freeimage installed.

Hi Radiance I've got two questions, does the Beta version support multi GPU? And I've read that you are planning on a x64 Win version...so my question is, is it really gonna matter since its pure CUDA and has nothing to do with the CPU? Thanks.

Hi all,
About the linux version, can linux users please provide some feedback on the UI responsivity issue i talk about in this thread:
http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... 2&start=30
we're working on making it react smoother.

I appreciate your work, Radiance, and that of the dev team. And I look forward to a direct sunlight option in your future releases and hopefully hairs and furs as well.
