Hi, I'm having problems again with OctaneRender DAZ plugin. This occurred after rendering quite a long animation a day ago. Today I opened DAZ which then crashed. I opened it again and got this error message with the OR Main page faded out:
"Could not access the Settings file:
C:\Users\Ray\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\ OctaneRender_settings.osczdb"
The settings file is in the DAZ 3D folder and is 204kb. Somehow the OR settings file is getting corrupted. I don't know why this has happened because the animation rendered perfectly. I'm not sure how to fix this?
SOLVED!
When DAZ crashed it didn't close properly so when I opened it a second time OctaneRender registered two copies were open and wouldn't work. When I opened the task manager I realised this. Now OR is working again. Phew!

Well, here is another noob with installation problems

The installation of the stand alone software went fine. No problems there. But with the plugin it's another story. You have to unpack the folder and choose the directory. So I chose ProgramFiles/Daz Studio.../Plugins. So it creates several subfolders: OC1.11 and DS4.5.0.014(?) In the last folder there are several subfolders and one of them is called ACM. In this folder there is OctaneACM. First I couldn't open it, because several files were missing. I had to copy them from the main Daz Studio directory (several Qt files). After that I tried to open the ACM file, but the start or activation screen poppes up for only a second and then disappears. I installed it several times with the same result.
So I'm pretty desperate right now. I'm not a computerexpert at all, so my bag with magic tricks is already empty. Can anyone please help me? I want to play with my render

O yeah, I'm running on Windows 7 with a GTX 660.

Latest update of my problem. Everything is working now! I just opened the .exe file for the plugin as 'Administrator'. Just like someone suggested in an earlier post. But after that I had to replace the settingsfile in the Appdata folder.
Well, I hope I can from now on render happily ever after...fingers crossed.

I can get into the OcDS window and it shows it is activated. But when I try to open a saved scene after the update I get the activating OcDS window that just doesn't go anywhere. Photo below.
Can someone help me figure this out?

SSD Installation problem

Hi all,
I switched to a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD today. DS installed fine on the SSD, as did the Octane Render standalone. The DS plug-in installer however will not work, not even in administrator mode. It doesn't find the DS folder and it doesn't unpack to folder. So I tried unpacking to my old HD, guessing the SSD was the problem, and that worked fine. So I now have an unpacked folder with the plugin files. Where to go from here?
Thanks in advance.
