one issue is that an animation only competition can't be entered by demo users, as the demo can't save images so it can't output animation.
Maybe we can do 2 competitions:
- the license still competition: Open to anyone, can submit images, and we choose a theme this time, for example architecture. We give away licenses as prizes
this competition's goal is to make an incentive for non-licensed forum users to be part of the community, and win a license.
- the animation competition: For the registered customers, any animation can be submitted (no theme) and we give away other prizes.
this competition's goal is to get a lot of nice animations in our gallery
what do you think ?

I did this in trial before i got license

just a matter of beeing little bit creative. Orange boxes falling down with DOF was done in trial.
However, free theme anim does it for me, closed or open

let's see... if the point is to do animation for a showcase, having to do it the 'demo way' would be like 'selling' something that's quite not there (that is, plain and straight animation functionality)

Belive me, only nutters would have patience to do anim in trial, so it will naturally filter out 99% participants.
just saying its possible

radiance, as you wish... if you want to make this fair, make the animation themed... otherwise people will get mad if someone's reusing material, what do you think...
Another thing is, what tools will we have in order to produce these animations, support for new formats (collada fbx)?

Ok. Great.
But what about post?
So im proposing like this.
One animation - two versions
One straight from octane , no post-production
Second with post ( just for those who want ) - to show how cool it would look like with post.
Or its a dumb idea??

what do you mean "what about post"? (EDIT: you mean posts as in forum posts or post-production?

hahaha I'm getting obsessed with this forum)
