I'm checking symetry problem. have you some other plugins? Can you post me a list?
i had a lot of junk turned on and cleaned that now... i'll report if it crashes again
some problem i still have tough...
when rendering in the picture viewer, the blend in display of the octane status is broken ...
i m almost sure this worked the first day i used it, but now its totally unreadable garbled.
(very annoying because i dont now how many samples etc..)
by the way... it would be nice to be able to set the live render window to exact size or proportion.

to loading any confusing plugin that is enough to crash.
Yes I realise that, I did try removing them all like I said.
An update on the problem, I don't think it is necessarily related to the render queue per se - more to do with the end of a render. I was just rendering a sequence to the picture viewer and working on a different scene file, when the picture viewer finished its last frame C4D crashed.
The good thing about Octane crashes are they always very quick and clean and always produce 'bug report' scene files so I never actually lose any work! Other types of crash often leave C4D hanging and require a force quit.
I have since put my plugins back by the way - I am working so need to use C4D as usual. When I have time i will try and test some more.
Where are these DLL files supposed ot be (if I have any), just in the MAXON root folder along with the C4D app, exchange, help, library, modules, plugins etc?
Cheers, Matt
ps. it would only collide with plugins, not scripts. Correct?

Should be root and plugin folder only. Remember to have a look in plugins in userfolder also to get a clean Cinema. Therefore I copied the whole C4D folder on the same computer and renamed it to get a new and clean userfolder also.

To same place of C4D.exe. But do it only has some startup problems. Otherwise plugin takes system files automatically. You can have crashes if you have two octane.dll/*.dat files.
#indexofrefraction: Render info line is corrupt while Float output is active. Will be fixed.
request for sizing: it's noted but sdk has not a command for that. I'm looking some methods.
#To people: I have a long fixing list. Some takes long time to fix.

This is allready possible! Hit the Symbol that looks like a padlock. Klick on "update, and the resolution is like you adjusted it. 800x600, 1920x1080 and so on!
Kind regards Chris!

Sorry, my misunderstanding.

Hm, strange. When I use the padlock, it only locks the aspect ratio to last size of the Viewer. No aspect nor size of settings.

What I do to lock the size is use the 'start preview' from the octane settings set to render one frame to the live viewer, then it renders the input dimensions which can be locked with the lock icon. There are probably other ways but it works for me.
I think I've solved my crashing issue
I tried this quite a few times and am now convinced I know what caused it (and it's kind of good news)... If the live viewer is open and visible in my layout then the picture viewer and render queue crashes after it finishes one render.
If I have the live viewer open but covered up by a tabbed window (I put the blank picture viewer over it while using the render queue).
On one test I covered up the live viewer for the first 2 jobs then before the second job finished I switched tabs back to the live viewer and C4D crashed at the end of job 2. All other times it has crashed after job 1.
Does this make sense?
I notice the live viewer does show text updates while rendering to the picture viewer/render queue so perhaps it is something to do with that. I don't know - but hopefully this information is new and useful.
Thanks, Matt

Hi Ahmet!
I am rendering now a seuqenze with 650 frames with bloom and glare effect. Randomly i get frames like this. This is very weird! Also using bloom / glare and using object id tag makes render manger crash like we had it with 0.72b. I mean the hung up problem! If you need further information skype me!
