Well no. Radiance publicised it and nominated the date himself. ;)
If they weren't going to meet the date they could have said so the day or days before.
Self inflicted PR fail IMO.

Hello,

We had a problem coming up last minute, forcing us to delay the release.

The release will be there in a matter of days, rather than weeks; it should definitely arrive by next week.

Oh that stinks, but it's better to have it delayed than having a rushed, buggy version so take your time. :)

1st December, Monday, next week....

why don't you release it next year? All of us can wait for an absolutely free bug version.

Releasing it 1st January 2012 is a good marketing move.

actually this post has become quite entertaining like a tv series! you visit once a day and read all sides around the matter, all feelings - theories - ideas

anyway, it's a beta, we can wait a bit more, we keep going with standalone, we don't even know if it's stable yet! no point in flaming for "commercial use of a test version" ;)

keep up the good work refractive team! delays always carry good surprises until now, so i don't mind waiting a bit more :ugeek:

My personal problem right now with Refractive Software® is not the fact that it doesn't release the OctaneRender® for 3ds max®, i don't really care about it, i'm a Maya user. And also i don't see any point in buying other BETA software from Refractive Software®, if the didn't finish working on the first BETA OctaneRender® Standalone.
Right now they don't work on OctaneRender Standalone that i, and many many others have bought... they work on something i will probably never use  .

So please... move faster with your new beta software, so you can finish your first beta software :!: .
