However when you save as a 8bit png the dithering affect seems to be removed, so I tried saving as a 16bit png and that works, but I just noticed when I open the images in Photoshop they're all 8bit, none of them are 16bit. I tested with standalone (alpha 7 & beta 1) and saving a 16bit png gives you a 16bit image in Photoshop, so maybe the OcDS 16bit save option can replace the (broken?) 8bit save option and a new true 16bit save option can be added?
There is a bug in the plugin where it is saving as PNG8 bit when you select to save as PNG 16 bit. I will fix this in the next release.

This is quite critical Paul for commissions I have on right now... any hint when the next release is likely to be released?

I have refreshed the installer at the top of this thread with:

3.0.12.20
- Compiled with Octane 3 beta 1 (3.0.12).
- Fixed issue where render statistics were not being displayed when render region was enabled
- Added support for animation of deformers
- In some instances, a scene would fail to start rendering an animation. This appears to be in scenes without figures. In this situation the plugin would sit inactively until the user stopped the animation. The plugin now pops an erre dialog "Error Starting Animation" when this occurs. I still do no fully understand what situations lead to this problem.

Any reason the plugin shows v3.0.12.19 is activated and currently online after installing this update?

My error - the version number (19) was not updated. But you are on the right version. I will fix the Octane Log error too...

I am aware of an issue with the 3.0.12.20 release where motion blur is not working. I hope to have this fixed in the next release.

Great work! This release has solved the d-formers updating problem. Frame for frame I'm also experiencing a 30 second decrease in render times compared to v2 of the plugin. Excellent! My only question is whether this release is developed and stable enough to render animation properly? If so, I'll begin a 60 hour animation render.

I only issue I am aware of that would impact your animation rendering is that motion blur is not currently working.

Camera motion blur is set to 'off' so I don't think this is an issue with this scene. I'll try a test run and see how it renders the first part of the animation.
