and yes, what garytyler says is true. Motionblur is working alright, but the slider goes much too far. I also am using values anywhere between 0.02 and 0.06. What I also found out, and that is a bit noing, is that the MB in LV allways looks much different to the final reault in PV.
But all in all, we are on a good way.
Only problem I found, was with softbody-dynamics...could not get any motionblur. Weather in LV or in PV. ...clould you please check this !!
If you need, I can send you a file or video.
Here is a motionblur-test with simple car-dynamics and just an HDR I did for testing. I used different values for the blurriness of the different szenes.

Subroutine49690,
you may find it so much, but someone can want to use these values. Also wanted. That's the reason to keep it high. Anyway it's possible to use 1/n sec format, but there is no physical effect on octane camera.
Secondly, have you readed manual about motion blur how works on LV? I don't talk so much about techical stuff, but i can produce exactly same results with picture viewer.
1-When you resend scene to LV
2-When you advance on timeline frame-by-frame.
If you have a opposite sample please show me.
For dynamics, you may have to cache before rendering. Otherwise, it can give different positions for objects.
For mblur test, can you export as abc and import to standalone to compare results? What's your scene's fps? which paramters are you using on motion blur?
Just drop me a scene which has issue with mblur

Ha, OK that makes sense. I'll start typing it in with a / from now on. Actually, I am getting weird motion blur which is why I was even thinking to type that. This is a poor frame but it shows that the rear left wheel of this car is ?missing? and the front left is getting some wild motion blur all over the place. I'm still getting used to these settings but really thought I had it all nailed down here.
Does 'Update Mesh' in the object tag need to be selected for something like wheels that are just spinning?

Hey garytyler,
hard to see well but i suppose that understand your problem. It's common issue with mblur on rotated objects. If objects rotates very fast, you'll need to use some sub-steps. It can be adjusted in Render Settings. A parameter which is named as "Time sampling per frames". Try higher values

OK. I'm going to stop posting on here until I get used to the setting label differences between between Octane and Vray. Much of the wording in the manual and help links doesn't help much either. At least there are less settings though. Thanks for the reply.

I think only in very rare situations and the slider don't need to be the value-limit, so for this special situations we could go above the slider-limit-value per typing it in. It's you choice to make it comfortable for the users or not.
aoktar wrote:Secondly, have you readed manual about motion blur how works on LV?
Yes I did, and there is really not much information about this, so your question confuses me.
I just want to help. I don't get payed for my time and feedback!! ..I'm not a noob
aoktar wrote:I don't talk so much about techical stuff...
..isn't this a tester-forum for technical stuff?
aoktar wrote:1-When you resend scene to LV
...then the object is not at right position. I have to change frame-postion(frame-by-frame), then I get the object at the right position.
aoktar wrote:2-When you advance on timeline frame-by-frame.
...works, but on my system not in the same intensity like it's rendered in pv. If you don't believe I can make a screenrecording ...like usual.
aoktar wrote:For dynamics, you may have to cache before rendering. Otherwise, it can give different positions for objects.
...I ALWAYS cache dynamics...thanks for the tip
aoktar wrote:For mblur test, can you export as abc and import to standalone to compare results?
...why? What information can I get from this? The differet resaults appear between LV and PV. What has this to do with the standalone? ...sorry I don't understand the reason.
aoktar wrote:What's your scene's fps?
...25fps in project-settings/render-settings/mb-settings
aoktar wrote:which paramters are you using on motion blur? Just drop me a scene which has issue with mblur
Hi Subroutine49690,
Don't take negative my questions. But i have to ask these to everyone before going to deep technical issues.
Any help is welcome.
Btw, LV is little tricky for motionblur and hairs. Lv is not using render data. There is no possibility to do with a realtime feedback window. So this makes people who are confused. There was two option for me while implement the things. To ignore these or hacking the somethings. We are on second way, so we have some confusing because of this tricks.
Last, motion blur is maybe hardest feature which was implemented. Well, i'm going to check your scene. I'll post what i found.
Best regards

I hope that my reply was helpfull for you. Yes manual is a headhace for me. I'm trying to keep up-to-date. You may check also "interactive help window". I'm creating some simple scenes for spesific topics. I hope that will be more usefull.

It was easier than i estimated. Animated text is deforming, so this means we have to send vertex data to Renderer. If you change "object motion blur" to "Transform/vertex", it would work.
